Deglutition Disorders from the Perspective of Healthcare Professionals in Turkey

Objective: Awareness of deglutition disorders is essential for prevention deglutition-related complications and improving quality care.The study examined the current knowledge, attitude practice regarding among healthcare professionals in Turkey.Methods: Healthcare who worked hospitals special education schools were included. A survey examining knowledge,attitudes, practices disorders, originally designed by Farpour colleagues (2019), was adapted administered tohealthcare working Turkey.Results: total 270 responded (72.7% response rate). 254 participants (94.1%) familiar with theterm disorders. 223 (82.6%) defined their professions as a management team member. All supporteda multidisciplinary approach. 216 (80%) met patient 212 (78.5%) used at least oneevaluation method to evaluate swallowing function, 147 (54.5%) one treatment treatment. Mostparticipants (73.7%) interested attending workshop about disorders.Conclusion: The present showed that knowledge high Turkey, theybelieve necessity approach However, it not understood if they follow an individualized andstandardized evaluation procedures. Therefore, more detailed questionnaires especially focus on managementof should be developed could trained improve disordersin Turkey.
